Prostory (Spaces) magazine is dedicated to literature, art, literary translation and social critique. We have been publishing thematic issues biannually since 2008. Prostory is a bilingual magazine, running items both in Ukrainian and Russian without cross-translation between the two. Our editorial process, based on horizontal self-organisation, keeps to intellectual and political principles of the New Left informed by feminism.

The editorial board of Prostory consists of:

Yevgenia BELORUSETS, artist and author. Member of the Hudrada Group.

Taras FEDIRKO, poet and literary translator. He is currently pursuing his PhD in social anthropology at the University of Durham (UK).

Sascha HRYHORENKO, literary translator, faculty member of German Department at Poltava National Pedagogical University.

Iryna SOBCHENKO, literary translator, faculty member at Kiev National Linguistic University, currently working on her PhD research project in Swiss literature at the University of Geneva

Nataliya TCHERMALYKH feminist writer and curator, faculty member of Oriental Studies Department at Kyiv National Linguistic University. 

Nelia VAKHOVSKA freelance literary translator and author. She is a founder and participant in TSPP, the Independent Union of Authors and Translators in Ukraine.

Prostory’s editorial advisory board includes intellectuals, writers and translators from Ukraine, Russia, Germany, Poland and Great Britain.
